LAMDA – Virtual Production & Technology Integration

At the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA), I was brought in to help realise a transformative vision: integrating cutting-edge virtual production technology into one of the UK’s leading drama schools. The project involved installing an LED volume, motion capture systems, and associated creative technologies that would prepare students for the future of stage and screen.

My role went far beyond photography. I helped scope the project, wrote the tender document, created the marking criteria, and assessed potential suppliers. Working between technology companies and the institution, I oversaw implementation, training, and integration—ensuring the systems worked across departments and served both creative and educational needs.

The result was a £2.2 million installation, delivered on time and within budget, that gave LAMDA students hands-on access to the same tools now used at the highest level of film, television, and theatre. The new facilities are already shaping how future performers, directors, and technicians understand and use virtual production.

This project demonstrates my ability to manage complex, large-scale creative and technical initiatives—balancing artistic ambition with practical delivery. By bridging the worlds of production, technology, and education, I helped LAMDA take a bold step into the future of performance.
